ScrappyDog Idea Factory flips the traditional model. Instead of charging you to build your idea, we invest our engineering time and expertise as partners. You keep co-ownership of your concept. We handle all the design, development, and deployment. When the product earns revenue, you share in the upside — or choose a guaranteed passive income instead.
This isn't a hackathon or an incubator. It's a real partnership backed by legal agreements, IP protection, and 35+ years of professional software development experience. We're selective about the ideas we take on — which means if we say yes, we're all in.
How it works
Every Idea Factory partnership follows a structured process designed to protect your IP and set the project up for success.
Share your product concept through our intake process. You don't need technical specs or wireframes — just a clear description of the problem you want to solve and who it's for. We review every submission and respond within one week.
Before any details are shared beyond the initial pitch, ScrappyDog sends a signed NDA and partnership agreement. Your idea is legally protected from day one. The contract covers IP ownership, revenue splits, roles, and exit terms.
You serve as product owner — setting priorities, providing feedback, and validating that we're building the right thing. ScrappyDog handles all technical work: architecture, design, development, testing, infrastructure, and deployment. We use AI-native tooling to move fast without cutting corners.
Once the product launches and generates revenue, we split the earnings according to the partnership model you chose. No upfront costs, no invoices, no surprise fees. We succeed when you succeed.

It depends on scope, but our AI-native development approach significantly accelerates delivery. Most MVPs are ready within 8–16 weeks of partnership agreement.
You owe nothing. ScrappyDog absorbs all development costs. Under the 50/50 model, earnings are split only when the product generates revenue. Under the 5% model, ScrappyDog manages and sells the product and pays you 5% of all revenue collected. If the product generates no revenue after one year, you may exit the partnership. An optional source code buyout is available at development cost.
Yes. Exit terms are defined in the partnership agreement before work begins. Both parties have clear paths to exit the arrangement fairly.
